Carved Gadrooned Urn Bowl Fountain Detail

A close, unhurried look at the point where the bowl of a fountain meets its pedestal. The bowl is deeply gadrooned all the way round, and below it a carved baluster socle is worked with overlapping acanthus leaves before the shaft narrows away. Photographed tight against black so every fluted rib and every leaf tip is legible, this is the kind of carving that a small thumbnail photograph usually hides.
